Pisani claims the final World Rank Tour and a spot in the national team
Duncan Pisani claimed victory of the third and final db World Ranking Tournament having the better of Clive Baldacchino 8-3 in the final played last Friday at St. George’s Band Club Qormi.
Pisani was in a great form and left few instances to Baldacchino to recover. Both players qualified for the national team that will be representing Malta in the World Championships being held in England in November. Pisani and Baldacchino joined Ryan Pisani, Kevin Mercieca, Joseph Casha, Duncan Edwards, Antione Aquilina and Wayne Bonnici.

Tonio Mifsud overwhelms ex World Champion Mills in the final
Tonio Mifsud overwhelmed ex Over 50’s World Champion Christ Mills in the final of the Over 50’s World Rank Tour 3. Mifsud was in great shape and form and went on to beat Mills 8-5 and gained a spot in the category’s national time that will be participating in the coming World Championships in England in November.
Mifsud will be joining already qualified Joseph Psaila, Ray Caruana, Brian Grech and Marco Bonello in the national team while Marcel Micallef and Alfred Attard will be contesting a decider for the final spot.
Scott Muscat claims Under 23’s category number one spot
Scott Muscat won his second consecutive World Rank Tournament this time having the better of Christian Spiteri 8-2 in the final. Thanks to this victory Muscat secured the number one spot of the Under 23’s category and will end the season as local champion. Spiteri won a place in the Under 23’s national team, together with Scott Muscat & Dejan Grech, that will be representing Malta in the coming World Championships being held in England in November. Rudger Xerri and Elcid Aquilina will be playing a decider to clinch the last spot in the same national team.
Liam Mifsud grabs his third consecutive ranking tournament
Liam Mifsud won the the third and last Under 18’s World Ranking Tournament of the season beating Steve Muscat 8-4 in the final. Mifsud kept his momentum winning the last three tournaments of the category and consolidated his number one spot in the ranking list.
