Tonio Mifsud edged Manuel Mallia 8-7 in the final of the Over 50’s Category. Thanks to this victory Mifsud booked a place in the Over 50’s National Team A that will be representing Malta in the coming European Championships being held in our country in February.

Clayton Attard back on the podium
Ex European Champion, Clayton Attard went back in time and re produced a splendid victory in the final of the db Third Ranking Tournament of the season. In the final Attard went on to beat Chris Tabone with a convincing 8-3 victory. Thanks to this victory Attard has now secured a place in the Mens National Team A that will be competing in the coming European Championships being held in Malta. Reaching the final Tabone now jumped in the top spot of the mens’ ranking list.

Neil Caruana grabs the Under 18’s Ranking Tour 2
Neil Caruana won the second Under 18’s ranking tournament of the season. In a well balanced final Caruana edged youngster Nordai Desira 8-6. Thanks to this victory Caruana joined Steve Muscat at the top of the category’s ranking list from which the two national teams, representing Malta in the coming European Championships, will be chosen.
Leon Azzopardi claims his first Under 23’s Ranking triumph
Leon Azzopardi won the second series of the Under 23’s Ranking Tournaments Category beating Owen Amato 8-5 in the final. Azzopardi was steady throughout the game and left no stone unturned to win his first ranking tournament in the association’s ranks. Great potential ahead of the lion.

Ray Caruana conquers the Over 50’s Rank 2
Ray Caruana clinched the Over 50’s category second series of the season overwhelming Brian Grech with a convincing 8-1 victory. Caruana had a great return in the association’s ranks and with a stunning performance booked a place in the category’s national team A that will be representing Malta in the coming European Championships being held between the 16th & 21st February in our country.
Johan Attard return in style winning Rank 2 Tour
Johan Attard’s return in the association’s ranks left an immediate mark with an impressive victory in the second series of ranking tournaments. Attard was in great form and shape and went on to beat Wayne Bonnici with an 8-3 victory. Together with Anton Cuschieri, who qualified from the first series of rankings, Attard has now secured a place in Mens National Team A that will be representing Malta in the European Championships being held in our country.

db Ranking Tournament No. 3 Draws
The third series of the db ranking tournaments will set its balls rolling on Thursday 24th October at St. George’s Band Club, Qormi. Not less than 156 players registered in the this event that includes four categories that will reach the climax with the finals scheduled on the 13th & 14th November.
All Games are being held at St. George’s Band Club, Qormi, and will commence on Thursday 24th October.
Steve Muscat grabs Under 18’s Rank 1
Steve Muscat won the first ranking tournament of the Under 18’s category of the season. In a terrific final Muscat edged Liam Mifsud 8-7 in the final decisive frame. Mifsud started well and took a three frame lead but Muscat kept his nerves on, recovered well and kept his momentum to win the decisive frame.

Dejan Grech reigns the Under 23’s Rank 1
An inspiring Dejan Grech conquered Ranking Tournament No. 1 of the Under 23’s category. A great performance saw Grech overwhelming current Under 23’s European Champion Scott Muscat in the final of the category. Grech opened with style producing three consecutive dishes and totaling six clearances at the end of the 8-2 victory. Scott had few occasions to recover but he will back to show his talent in the coming tournaments.

Marcel Micallef
Veteran Marcel Micallef clinched the Over 50’s category first ranking tournament of the season. In the final Micallef edged Marco Bonello 8-7 in the final decisive frame. Both players produced a good performance with Bonello loosing great opportunities that could have switched the results to his advantage. Micallef kept steady and thanks to this victory booked a place in the categories national team that will be representing Malta in the coming European Championships being held in February in our country.
