Euro Ranking Tournaments

 

The association will be holding four ranking tournaments valid for the European Championships 2023 qualifications.  The tournaments will include five categories, Mens, Under 18’s, Under 23’s, Over 50’s and Over 60’s. The winners of each tournaments in the Mens, Under 18’s, Under 23’s and Over 50’s categories win a place in their respective national team representing our country in the coming European Championships being held in Malta  between the 18th and 25th February 2023.

All players participating in these tournaments will be awarded a number of points depending on the results achieved.  The following is table of points each player will be awarded:

    • Players winning the tournament will be awarded 300 points 
    • Players reaching the final will be awarded 225 points
    • Players reaching the semi finals will be awarded 170 points
    • Players reaching the quarter finals stages will be awarded 130 points
    • Players reaching the last 16 stage will be awarded 100 points
    • Players reaching the last 32 stage will be awarded 75 points
    • Players reaching the last 64 stage will be awarded 55 points
    • Players reaching the last 128 stage will be awarded 40 points

Players awarding a walkover during the tournament will loose all points won in the same tournament. Players can only participate in one category and have to make up their decision before the commencement of the Euro Ranking Tournament No. 1.

The dates of the tournaments are scheduled as follows:

    • Euro Rank 1 –  25/07/22 to 05/08/22
    • Euro Rank 2 – 29/08/22 to 09/09/22
    • Euro Rank 3 – 19/09/22 to 30/09/22
    • Euro Rank 4 – 02/11/22 to 17/11/22

Registrations will be accepted between the following dates: 

    • Euro Rank 1 –  28/06/22 to 16/07/22
    • Euro Rank 2 – 01/08/22 to 16/08/22
    • Euro Rank 3 – 29/08/22 to 07/9/22
    • Euro Rank 4 – 01/10/22 to 11/10/22

Fees: 

Entry fee for each tournament cost Euro 15 per player.  Players opting to play all tournaments (including the World Rankings – Total 8 tournaments) will be allowed a discounted fee of Euro 100 for all the tournaments.  All fees are to be paid in advance and not later than the 16th July 2022.  

All games are being played at St. George’s Band Club, Qormi with the finals being live streamed on the association’s facebook page and youtube channel.
