Matthias Debono won the Under 20’s World Ranking Tournament No. 3 category. In the final Debono outclassed Casdy Vella with a convincing 7-2 victory.

Ghaxaq Bocci Novita Bagno wins Second & Third Division Team Knockout
Ghaxaq Bocci Club striked an impressive win over Kumpanija Mosta in the final of the Division 2 & 3 Knockout category. The Ghaxaq players were next to perfection and left no stones unturned to register an 11-0 notable triumph.
The winning team was composed by Stephen Mangion, Clint Grima, Christ Mills, Joseph Camilleri, Jesmond Schembri, Scott Muscat and Gilmour Scicluna.

International Rules Series of Events
The Malta Pool Association gladly announce the organisation of a new series of events playing the latest International Rules introduced at the Ultimate Pool Professional Series.
The schedule includes four events planned as follows:
Series 1: 10th, 11th, 13th November
Series 1 : 17th, 18th , 20th November
Series 3: 7th, 10th, 11th December
Series 4: 15th to 18th December (including final knockout stage)
Thirty two players will be allowed to participate in these events. The winner of each series (total of four winners) will make it to the final knockout stages out of which the winner wins participation in the Ultimate Challenger Series 2022 taking place next year in May, July, September and November. The prize include flights, accommodation on bed & breakfast basis and entry fees for all the four series of events taking place in England.
The local series tournaments, being held at St. George’s Band Club Qormi, will be played on a double elimination format hence allowing all participants double opportunity to progress in each event. Entry fee per tournament is Euro 15 and winners of every round will pay an additional Euro 5 per round. Registrations are being accepted by Tuesday 2nd November via the below link:
All participants are to pay in advance the entry fee (Euro 60) for all four events. Entries are being accepted on first come first served basis and subject to receipt of full payment via Revolut on 79499117 or in cash by not later than Tuesday 2nd November. The progress round fees of Euro 5 are to be paid in cash at the tournament before each commencement of each round. No entries will be entertained without the settlement of fees. In case of over subscription preference will be given to players registered with the association and participating in its ranking tournaments.
The association also clarifies that this new series of events is not linked with the current ranking tournaments events valid for the European and World Qualifications.
World Ranking Tournaments & World Championships
The Malta Pool Association issued a communication with regards to the organization of two World Ranking Tournaments and a plan to select the national teams that will be representing our country in the coming World Championships scheduled to be held between the 16th & 26th August at the Hilton Metropole Birmingham in England.

World Ranking Tournaments
The Malta Pool Association would like to notify that due the COVID 19 restrictions and changes in calendar the Four Series of Ranking Tournaments, valid for the World Championships qualifications, are now being rescheduled to be held as follows:
Series 1- 4th to 13th November
Series 2 – 18th to 27th November
Series 3 – 3rd to 16th December
Series 4 – 17th to 29th December
All series of tournaments are open for Mens, Under 18’s, Under 23’s and Over 50’s categories and are being held at St. George’s Band Club Qormi. Players can now opt to change their game time to 6 pm on the same day of the original fixture subject to an agreement by both players. Notifications to be sent to the association’s officials in advance.

The World Championships are being held at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham between the 17th & 26th August. As already confirmed the association will be sending three teams for these championships being the Mens, Under 23’s and Over 50’s categories. All expenses are being covered by the Malta Pool Association.
Liam Mifsud wins World Rank Tour 1
Liam Mifsud edged Haydn Magro 8-7 in the final of the db World Ranking Tournament No. 1. Both players produced great pool but Mifsud managed to snatch the decisive frame that awarded him his second title of the season after winning the Euro Rank 3 way back in November.
db Rank 1 Draws
The Malta Pool Association yesterday held the draws of the first series of the db Euro Ranking Tournaments valid for the European Championships qualifications.
Not less than 151 players registered for this series of events which will include four categories Mens, Under 18’s, Under 23’s and Over 50’s. The tournament, being held at St. George’s Band Club Qormi, will commence on Monday 23rd September and will come to an end on Friday 5th October.
